Active Parenting Now Workshop
For parents of children ages 5 to 12--You are invited to attend ACTIVE PARENTING NOW...Coming this Fall 2006!
Penn Manor School District is excited to bring the acclaimed Active Parenting Now program directly to you! The program is open to ALL parents/guardians of children, ages 5 to 12 years old, who attend the school district.
Active Parenting Now is the first comprehensive parenting education group for parents of children ages 5 to 12 to fully incorporate the latest information and skills in the prevention movement. The workshop will focus on helping parents: Use non-violent discipline techniques that work, improve communication with their children, teach responsibility and other important values, handle problems as they arise, defuse power struggles with their children, stimulate independence as their child grows older and encourage their children to be their very best!
The program will be offered in six required two-hour classes at Manor Middle School in the IMC. There will be no cost for the program and materials will be provided at the first night of the workshop. Two-certified Elementary School Counselors who have been trained by Active Parenting will lead the program. The leaders will present the workshop in a format that includes: Educator presentations, videos, participant activities, assigned reading, discussion group, support time, and a lending library.
