School Board Members
Dr. Richard L. Frerichs
Term Expires: 12/2017 – Years on Board: 16
Occupation: Retired Educator
Reason for Serving: As the father of two daughters who are graduates of the Penn Manor school district, I believe that providing a quality public education to all students in the Penn Manor district is a responsibility that should be shared by all of its citizens. As a retired educator and life-long learner, I am committed to maintaining the balance between the financial limitations of our taxpayers and the academic capacity of our students. Being a member of the school board enables me to fulfill this commitment and take an active role in accepting this responsibility.

Occupation: Curriculum director, Lancaster County Career & Technology Center
Reason for Serving: I have a strong desire to give back to the community in which I live. I made a conscious decision to live in the Penn Manor School District because of the innovative program offerings for all students. I feel my experience in education as well as in civic endeavors have prepared me to be an asset to this board, the students and the community that we serve.
Mr. J. Kenneth Long – President
Term Expires: 12/2015 – Years on Board: 5

Reason for Serving: I was always very active in PMSD when my two adult children were going through the district. It was during those times that I realized what went in to making Penn Manor a very good school district. I see my service as an opportunity to give back to a school district that prepared my children to take the next step in their education. My goal on the board is to move Penn Manor from a very good district to a great district while being good stewards of the taxpayer’s money.
