Real Estate Tax Notice - Interims


General Information

1. All tax bills are sent directly to the property owner. Owners are responsible for forwarding these to their mortgage companies. Please confirm the correct mailing address and payment procedures with your mortgage company prior to forwarding the bill to them.

2. Failure to receive bill does not entitle owner to discount or remission of penalty on taxes, nor does it remove liability for payment.

3. If you no longer own this property, please provide name and address of new owner and return the bill to the Penn Manor School District, Tax Office, PO Box 1001, Millersville, PA 17551.

4. Errors on real estate bills - such as name, address, incorrect assessment - should be reported to the Lancaster County Assessment Office at 717-299-8381.

5. Only full payments are accepted. We do not accept partial payments or postdated checks.

6. Payment is due according to the schedule printed on the bill.

7. A $20.00 fee will be charged for any check returned due to insufficient funds.

8. Persons 65 or older, widow and widowers 50 or older, and the permanently disabled can apply for property tax rebates offered through the Commonwealth. Contact the Office of Aging for application information at 717-299-7979.

Please note that Penn Manor School District no longer collects tax payments at its administrative offices.


Payment Instructions

By Mail:
1. Please use the enclosed self-addressed envelope.

2. When taxes are paid by mail, the U.S. postmark will be considered the date paid - no exceptions. Letters mailed at some locations may not be postmarked until the following day so please exercise caution when meeting this deadline.

3. If you pay by mail and a receipt is required, please include both portions of the tax bill with your payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope; otherwise only one copy of the bill is required with payment.


The following information is effective July 1, 2006.

The base tax is calculated by taking the 2006 assessment times .01531 which is the current milleage rate.

When taxes are paid by mail the US postmark will be considered the date paid – no exceptions. Waiting to mail taxes the last day of discount or base can result in having the next day's postmark appear on your envelope. Please exercise caution when meeting the deadline.

Real estate taxes can be paid at any Fulton Bank as long as you have an original, MICR-encoded tax bill. Photocopies of real estate bills or interims can be paid at the Fulton branch located at 2099 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA (717-291-2691).

Effective 7/1/2000 the per capita/occupation tax has been eliminated.
