Penn Manor TSA students are tops in PA

Penn Manor has four new state champions — when it comes to solving technology problems.

Teams of two students each from the high school and Manor Middle School placed first in the Technology Problem Solving competition at the recent state conference of the Technology Student Association (TSA).

The first-place finishes by Zach Schucker and Ray Gerner of Penn Manor High School and Kaylee Jackson and Isabella Price-Duble of Manor Middle qualified them for the next round of competition at the National TSA Conference in Nashville June 28 to July 2.

In addition, a team from Marticville Middle School — Alex Detter and Sarah Hollinger — also earned an invitation to Nashville by placing third in the Forensics Competition at the state conference, held at Seven Springs.

Six other Penn Manor High School students were named finalists in the competition.

The team of Josh Adams, Kevin Ward and Aidan McFall placed 10th in System Control Technology, and the team of Josh Hiltz, Matt Tulli and Colin Cunningham placed seventh in Debating Technology Issues.

In all, 25 high school students and 11 middle school students from Penn Manor took part in the conference, which brought together about 2,600 students from across the state to compete in events related to science, technology, engineering and math.

Congratulations to our outstanding students, and best luck in Nashville!
