PMSD staff welcomed back for 2015-2016 year

More than 500 Penn Manor teachers, administrators and support staff got a jump start on the new school year by participating in Opening Day activities Monday at Penn Manor High School.

Participants were treated to breakfast and lunch and heard an inspirational address titled “Looking Up — the Power of Positive Thinking” by Lori Kunkle, a clinical wellness director and registered nurse.

Employees later participated in wellness sessions on such topics as “Qigong,” “Cardio Cross Training” and “Boxing Fitness,” along with practical sessions on “Distracted Driving,” “Healthy Thinking” and “Diets Don’t Work.”

Stations in the library provided skin cancer, vision and spinal screenings, along with useful information on retirement planning, personal finances and other topics.

The theme for the day was “Looking Up” for mental and physical wellness.  The 2015-2016 academic year begins Wednesday.

Welcome back, staff, and best wishes for a great year!
