Auto service shops give supplies to PM students

Thanks to a friendly competition between three auto service shops in Penn Manor School District, students at Pequea, Central Manor and Conestoga elementary schools will have more school supplies this year.

The three shops — Roberts Automotive in Mountville, Customs Classics in Willow Street and Kann’s Auto Repair in Conestoga — challenged their customers to donate supplies in August and September. The businesses engaged in a friendly competition to see who could generate the most materials.

In all, customers donated 10 large boxes of crayons, markers, binders, tablets, glue sticks, lunch boxes and other items, including 30 handmade backpacks, for students at the three schools.

While Roberts won the competition with the most donations (by weight), Penn Manor students were the real winners.

Thanks to all who participated for your generosity!
