13 PMHS students win regional art awards

The artwork of 13 talented Penn Manor High School students will be on display beginning Friday in downtown Lancaster as part of the Scholastic Art and Lancaster County Young Artist Awards exhibitions.

The Penn Manor students won awards in one or both of the competitions, with several students earning multiple awards. In all, nearly 30 pieces of their artwork will be on display. Their art teachers are Karen Gingerich and Kimberly McMullen.

Students Gabriella Minnich and Mikayla Wagner each earned the highest honor in the Scholastic competition, Gold Key Awards. Their artwork now advances to the National Scholastic Awards Competition. Katey Comeau and Sabrina Rodriguez each earned Gold Medals in the Young Artist competition.

The students’ artwork will be on display Friday, March 7 (“First Friday”), through March 30 at Lancaster Museum of Art, 135 N. Lime St., and the Demuth Museum, 120 E. King St.
