Garage sale Saturday to benefit Ireland trip

Want to help the Comets football team represent Penn Manor in Ireland next fall? Then come on out to a garage sale this Saturday, Jan. 18, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the high school cafeteria.

More than 25 tables will be selling a variety of goods in addition to lunch foods and baked goods. All proceeds will benefit the trip to Dublin, Ireland, planned for Aug. 26, 2014.

Penn Manor was selected to participate in the Croke Park Classic Football game in Dublin featuring Penn State vs. the Central Florida Knights. The Comets are one of 12 high school teams from the United States and Canada that will play a game the day before Penn State takes the field. Penn Manor was selected because of its recent success and the coaching staff’s long desire to take the team abroad.

The Comets will take on Cedar Cliff.

The trip is being funded by football players and supporters, and the garage sale is one of several fundraisers that will be held to raise money

Donations also are being accepted online at http://www.pennmanorcometsfootball.com/
