Senior Citizens Treated to Music, Money, and a Meal

On Wednesday, April 6, 75 Comet Classic cardholders were treated to Music, Money, and a Meal at Manor Middle School. These senior citizens were entertained by the Manor Singers while enjoying a boxed lunch. After the music and the meal came the money section of the program. Penn Manor’s first superintendent, Dr. Elmer Berkebile (pictured), talked to the group about the financial issues that Penn Manor faced when he was superintendent and how closely they mirror the financial issues the district is currently experiencing. Current superintendent, Dr. Mike Leichliter, presented  a “state of the district” powerpoint to the senior citizens and also discussed the issue of renovating Hambright Elementary or building a new elementary school.

The Comet Classic card is available to any resident of the Penn Manor School District who is 60 years of age or over. The card entitles you to free admission to all regular season high school sports events, dinner and a show for the fall play, as well as other special events such as Music, Money, and a Meal. Please contact Cindy Rhoades at 872-9500 ext. 2241 if you want more information on this program.
